The beautiful thing about storytelling is that it is evolving. At first when I started this blog in 2016, it was supposed to just be about fashion becoming a stylist, but this never happened. But that’s life… we change constantly to become who we were meant to be, and that’s called growth.
With Hammer Style Girl, Hammer is really short for Hamilton as I have lived here since I was 10 years old. Having moved from Toronto to this then known as the steel city, I hated Hamilton. I thought it had weird people, certain areas had a horrible stench, no one at first looked like me, and it was boring compared to the bigger city.
But as one gets older, you appreciate what the city offers. When I see the city, I see grit, Hamilton is rough around the edges, but trust me there is charm here. From the many beautiful views of nature (even compared Toronto), the hipster scene arising along with the growing arts scene here, and the dainty restaurants, the Hammer city has evolved into somewhere that screams for your attention or just simply be put on the map.
You see like Hamilton I have too…evolved.
I graduated from Mohawk College out of the Public Relations Graduate Certificate along with having a Journalism Diploma, so I am pretty much starving for knowledge of the fashion industry. Growing up in Hamilton has helped to expand my creativity in whatever I do.
I grew up in a Caribbean household where music and food was apart of my daily lifestyle. There was always had a love for fashion. This is thanks to my mother who would watch television shows like Fashion T.V. and other Canadian fashion shows. She has definitely been a huge inspiration for my style.
This blog is all topics dealing with travel, music beauty and other lifestyle subjects.
Hamilton is not boring, you just need to take the time and enjoy the city.
To create is to express.
