Today for many Americans, it’s voting day, a historical day when citizens choose who will be the President of the United States. Whoever is voted in office, this at times daunting and long election will affect Americans and Canadians like myself.
On a bright note, fashion wise, Michelle Obama over the years has dazzled us with some of the best dressed styles for the eight years Barack Obama has been President. Often compared to (another best-dressed) first-lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Michelle has left an impact to many impressionable people around the world. Like many (including myself), it is a sad day to see the Obamas leave, including the departure of Mrs. Obamas chic style. Here are some of my favourite fashion moments for Michelle Obama without any order.
2008: Barack Obama becomes the First Black President of U.S.A.
One word: historical. People all over the world saw a monumental moment happen before their eyes. The First Lady wore a red and black dress, making presidential statement all in her own way. How Michelle O’ of her.
2009: Inauguration
This dress was everything. From the flow, to the colour and the texture. Michelle looked flawless!
Something Yellow
Yellow is a fire colour and it brightens up anyone’s day. This dress is no different. Radiance at it’s best!
Blazer Season
I couldn’t choose just one blazer. One thing to note about wearing blazers are the versatility with them. The tailoring behind all of Obama’s suits are impeccable.
Dress Season
From the royal blue, the funky patterned dress and the glowing white gown. Michelle proved once again that her style cannot be touched.
Looking Like Royalty
Flotus is on fleek! Blue is her colour.
The Second Inauguration
The second inauguration was just as memorable as the first one. Michelle knew she had to make a fashion statement once more with this elegant coat that she wore.
Bold in Red
For being such a tall person this dress enhances her height along with colour brightening her complexion.
Glitter, Gold and All Things Bright
Michelle over years showed the world with confidence how to rock sequin and metallic dresses. All of them are my favourite.
There will not be a better first lady (or man) for some time. Combined with style, Michelle as a woman, mother, daughter, student and wife has taught a world a valuable lesson. To rise above the occasion with grace.
