For me hair is just another form of expression for creativity. I wear it long, short, purple, red and anything in between. However, women dawning the shorter hairstyles seem to get more flack because the societal norm for women wearing their hair is usually long and bouncy (excuse me while I go and laugh at these unrealistic expectations). If you are like many girls and women thinking of just cutting off all of your hair, the more power to you. In fact I have a few suggestions myself as I have rocked all sorts of short hair from the bob, buzzed cuts to the Grace Jones inspired high top fade. Here are a few ways to rock your short hair.

Accessorize Until it Hurts

One of benefits to rocking the extreme short hairstyles are that the accessories are endless. The ear cuffs are my favourite due to the edgy and effortless look that it adds to cropped hairstyles. There’s an image that combines badass while glamorous… you can’t go wrong with the look. The big hoop earrings will also look chic while balancing out your face (more particularly elongating your neck) You can also wear a statement choker along with some simple stud earrings.

Hats Make The Outfit

This is one of those looks that I missed when my hair grew out, it got so thick I could not wear hats like this one above. I’m not complaining about my hair, but with short hair its clearly more durable to rock the hats with no hair as opposed to having to struggle with hair.

There are endless more opportunities to colour your hair when short. Why? Because you can cut it all off if you don’t love the colour or if damaged. I truly do believe that you can have a lot more fun with colouring your hair then with longer hairstyles. With long hair there is a greater chance to having the bleach damage your hair than opposed to it being buzzed. I pay more attention to the roots and ends to my hair short then if it were longer. The freedom and creativity are endless.

Glam it Up

Overall short hair can be low maintenance. You get up, condition the hair and go. I save at least 20 minutes doing my hair if longer (even though I have no patience at all  with any time over 10 minutes of doing a hairstyle). Going out is the best since all of my friends either blow dry, straighten their hair or do whatever else they need to do to get ready for any night event, and here I am just brushing whatever hair I have and ready. There is a glamour to short hair more so with buzzed hairstyles because of the air of confidence that it brings. Your face is the centre stage and there is no hiding.

So what are you waiting for? I say just do it. The more you think about chopping all of your hair is all the more reasons why you should take thoughts into actions. Hair does grow out if you don’t like it
